Subject: Where Is Oregon Kayak Supply in Portland?
|
That's the question in the subject line. Oregon and supply are supposed to be in the name, but a search of the yahoo yellow pages don't reveal anything. It's supposed to be a very large business and either are having a sale or about to have a sale. Apparently, one thing the are noted for is that during the sale they don't charge freight on the new boats bought. -- Wayne T. Watson (Watson Adventures, Prop., Nevada City, CA) (121.015 Deg. But it was because I was looking for a boating supply shop I remember from years back in Portland...it was down in the basement of a building in SE, just off the waterfront. I think it was on either Pacific Highway or on Water Street, between Belmont and Madison, and around the corner from Family Planning (with the "Deliveries in the Rear" sign...LOL) I think it was on PacHwy. They had the Riken dealership with several rafts blown up in the basement; it was a great supply store back when there weren't too many of them. And I remembered all THAT stuff without google! ;-) --riverman

That shop is still there. It is "Andy and Bax". It has a Army suplus-type store up top and a rafting shop in the basement. Good shop. It is on Grand ave about 2 blocks from the expressway and about 10 blocks east of the river. pete > More or less.
