Tone down Jon. Vinnie is asking for an opinion.
Besides, he's blind and using a program to translate the pages to text.
Google is not as much help then.

Nonetheless, Oregonians are rather persnickity about the spelling and
pronounciation of their state name. If you ever go there and pronounce it
'Ore-GONE', at least in the western cities, everyone within earshot will
correct you (they pronounce it almost like 'organ'). So I can see why
someone posting it as 'Oregan' might get a response. I thought his reply was
reasonable...he just suggested to spell it correctly, which would be almost
essential with any search engine.
That being said, is it true that Vinnie is blind and using a voice
translation program? I took some blind rafters boating once, on the Hudson
River Gorge. Talk about some trusting individuals! I told them we could
skirt some of the more dangerous stuff with a margin of error, or cut the
edge of the hole closely. They insisted that they could tell if I skirted
something, so not to cut corners at all. They even pointed out to me several
times that I seemed to have missed that pourover by a bit much. They were
the most 'on the button' paddlers I ever had, as there was no sudden fear
factor when I called for a hard stroke. I still miss that crew; they were as
much fun as the deaf crew I took once.

I am not the person to make that kind of thing up... If you look at
RBP.WW, you'll notice a bunch of his posts in which he explains some of
that.
But you can ask him yourself, his e-mail address is in his post.

Yeah, although I don't see too well without lenses (-9 diopter), I would
probably be scared running anything blind, trusting only the guide. Then
again, in nowadays world, it can be a good thing to be able to have
someone that you can trust blindly (no pun intended).

I don't read rbp.ww, but I believe you. I wonder how different an experience
it is boating as a blind boater. My mom is also blind, and there's no limit
to what a different world she lives in. Is there a way to program spelling
into those voice translating programs? If so, he might still find a search
engine useful.
